As the winter melts away here in Illinois, we are ready to welcome the spring. Many of us take this time of year and do some spring cleaning in our houses. You should also spend some time taking care of your car. Here are some spring maintenance tips to help you get started.
Wash your car
All the salt that is put down on the roads during the winter can collect on your car. That salty, dirty mix can gradually damage your car. With the first signs of spring, give your car a thorough wash, including the undercarriage.
Clean the interior
Along with washing the exterior, you should clean the inside of your car. Take out all the junk and trash that has collected over the winter months. Wipe down all the hard surfaces and vacuum the carpet and upholstery.
Check your tires
If you switched the winter tires, now is the time to switch back to your regular set. While you’re at it, check the condition of your tires and make sure they are properly inflated.
Keep up with routine maintenance
If you skipped any maintenance steps during the winter, get your car back on schedule with an oil change, fluid check, and an inspection of your belts and hoses.
If you’re not sure whether your car is ready for spring, schedule a service appointment at Anthony Buick GMC, where our expertly-trained technicians will ensure your car gets the care it deserves.
