There are plenty of reasons why GM is one of America’s largest and most trusted automakers. Sure, it’s a global leader in terms of sales. It ships some of the most innovative and reliable vehicles on the road today. But that reputation stems directly from the fact that it doesn’t just value its workers for their sweat equity or drivers for their money. That’s why it was recently named one of the most ethical companies in the world for the second year in a row.
An evaluation conducted by Ethisphere found that General Motors met or exceeded expectations for value-based decision making, overall leadership, and maintaining integrity as a business. This year, 135 companies spanning 22 countries were honored. So, the fact that GM was the only automaker to earn a spot on the list says a lot about its respect for workers, drivers, and commitment to using its substantial resources to address societal issues.
In a statement regarding the award, CEO Ethisphere Timothy Erblich said, “The World’s Most Ethical Companies honorees continue to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the highest values and positively impacting the communities they serve.”
