If you’re in the market for a vehicle that won’t peter-out within a couple of years or start showing its age before its time, you should probably consider a Buick Envision. For proof, look no further than the fact that it just claimed the top spot in the J.D. Power Dependability Study’s Compact SUV segment.
Every year, J.D. Power polls drivers who have owned their cars for more than 3 years. Evaluators then gauge vehicle reliability based on the number of issues experienced per 100 models. That means, much like in golf, a lower score is better. In the 2021 study, the industry average was 121. Naturally, the Envision performed above expectations.
The Buick reliability you know and love was on full display during J.D. Power’s evaluation, as it scored several high-profile wins. As mentioned above, the Envision took home the gold for compact SUVs, trouncing competitors like the Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Forester. Next, the brand itself ranked fifth in overall dependability with a score of 100. For reference, Mercedes-Benz scored 122, Ford snagged a 130, INFINITI reached 137, and Volkswagen could only manage a 163.
